The high temperatures made it a lovely summers evening for the Solent Singers’ Music for a Summers Evening concert.
The choir, based in Warsash, performed a mix of music from show tunes Lullaby of Broadway and Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man, to pop tunes, including To Make You Feel My Love, written by Bob Dylan and most notably performed by pop artist Adele.
“It was an amazing evening and we were delighted to welcome Deputy Mayor Cllr David Norris and the Deputy Mayoress, Pam Norris together with Councillor Mike Ford to the concert,” said Liz Bennett, president of the choir.
“I come every year. They always put so much effort into their concerts, practising for months and that effort shows in the premier performance they deliver on the night,” said Rosalyn Taylor from Locks Heath.
This year’s concert raised money for the Warsash and Locks Heath Community First Responders – a team of local volunteers trained to provide emergency medical first aid care until an ambulance arrives.
The funds raised will go towards procuring vital medical equipment for use in emergency situations by the volunteers.
