Performers from Cheer-a-cality hope to wow audiences while shaking their pom poms and performing slick dance moves to the beat at The Berry Theatre in Hedge End.

The 15 cheerleaders join other community clubs in the Hampshire Revue variety show to raise money for Naomi House and Jacksplace children’s hospice charities.

Principal Lara Hallam, who leads the club, which is based at Brookfield School, said: “It’s a very exciting opportunity for our students to perform. The girls have been working really hard.

“They’re really excited they’re going to get to perform on a proper stage, with proper lights and their costumes. It’s the dream for them to perform on a stage. It’s nice for me as their principal to give them the chance to show what they can do.”

Cheer-a-cality will perform a 10-minute routine incorporating cheers, gymnastic and dance moves to various music.

The group take part in fundraisers and performing at fetes throughout the year. Cheer-a-cality recently performed at Lord Wilson School’s Family Fun Day, while its sister club, Dance-a-cality, raised £350 for Macmillan Cancer coffee morning.

The variety show begins at 6.30pm with tickets costing £10 for adults and £6 for concessions. Contact the box office number to buy tickets or for more details on 01489 799499.
